Pots and More ยท Trust & transparency

How We Select Products

Pots and More is built around a simple principle: the recommendation should make sense before the commercial link appears. We start with the plant, the space and the practical constraints, then narrow the type of pot or planter that fits those needs.

Our selection process

  1. Define the use case. We identify the plant type, location, drainage needs, container size, material behavior and practical constraints.
  2. Set the criteria before choosing products. A product should not create its own justification after the fact.
  3. Shortlist only defensible options. We prefer a small number of useful choices over large automated product feeds.
  4. Check the commercial destination. Before a recommendation is published, its merchant page, product identity and availability should be verified.
  5. Explain the trade-off. Recommendations should state both why an option is useful and what limitation a buyer should understand.

Affiliate relationships do not determine ranking

Some recommendations may contain affiliate links. If you buy through one of those links, Pots and More may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. The existence or size of a commission does not automatically make a product eligible for recommendation and does not determine its position in a shortlist.

Price and availability

Prices, stock and merchant terms can change quickly. We do not want to present an old price as if it were current. When a recommendation includes commercial information, we aim to show the date it was last checked and direct the reader to the merchant for the current price and availability.

What we do not want to repeat

Pots and More previously relied on a large automatically imported product catalog. The 2026 rebuild moves away from that model. We do not want hundreds of stale listings, copied merchant descriptions or recommendations that exist only because a feed supplied them.

Sponsored content

If a brand pays for placement, supplies a product for review or sponsors content, that relationship should be disclosed clearly. Sponsored status does not convert advertising into an independent editorial recommendation.

Corrections and updates

Products change, links expire and better evidence can emerge. We review commercial recommendations over time and may remove or replace them. If you notice an outdated recommendation or a material error, please contact us.

Our standard: useful recommendation first, commercial relationship second.
